NMAP Syntax for simple query

Hi guys.

I need to nmap a single IP address to verify the state of port 22 of a remote unix server, ideally logging the result on a text file.
I'm using nmap version 7.0.40 on a windows 2008 box.

What is the correct syntax for it ?

What would the syntax be if I have multiple hosts to probe in an input text file ?

Zenmap for windows has a GUI interface that will provide the results from a "Quick Scan" in log window.

It will also save results and load multiple hosts.

You can also just use Putty to SSH to the address and see if it responds.
