What are the recommended trace flags required to enable in SQL Server 2016?

Compared to earlier versions, most of the 'best practices' recommended trace flags have been enabled already...

MS started to change their ways from SQL 2012.

Now they are used mainly for troubleshooting, because the beneficial  'best practices'  settings are now part of SQL. So there isnt a list of recommended settings.

Have a read of : https://www.brentozar.com/archive/2016/03/sql-server-2016-death-trace-flag/ and follow the 'whole lot more' link to https://www.brentozar.com/blitz/trace-flags-enabled-globally/

Intrigued to find out why you ask - any use of Trace Flags is so very dependant on your site requirements / physical environment (have a look at the 'freak out' column in the last link above).

The trace flags can be found : https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/sql/t-sql/database-console-commands/dbcc-traceon-trace-flags-transact-sql
you will need to carefully read - including the ms support article to determine if it applies. Read the warnings and the circumstances very carefully. Trace flags are no longer what they once were....
