Must use internet explorer to login eror even though we are using the internet explorer

This started happening last week when ever we go to this url https://www.cmm.hsbc.co.uk/CMM/ we get an error reading "You must use internet explorer to login" when you click ok we get "the web site is trying to close the tab do you want to close the tab yes or no"

We are using Internet Explorer - at first I thought this was an internal issue maybe caused by our AV or firewall - but then I try it from home via my own laptop and internet connection and got the same results.

If there anything I can do about this - my gut reaction is no but I want to be sure.

I wear a lot of hats...

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

I thought it was there site as well however I've got round this now by putting the site on the compatibility list and then temporary switching off AV and it works.

Are you saying there site is dangerous  to use or it just a setting there end?
