Domain Trust Groups and Group Policy

Hello- I have a trusted domain one way trust and its working.

The problem I am trying to tackle is to give developers limited access without making them full admins- they need to manage the server but on a limited scope.

Items they need to manage are

Folder Structuer
Add/Move Files in folders
Event log searches

Is there a group that will do this....doesn't look like it, or a trick I am missing to allow slimmed down administration without complete administration.

What I have done is added the trusted group to the built in Server Operators group and that does not seem to be working seems more or less for backward compatibility.

Any help is appreciated, any calcification please let me know.

I wear a lot of hats...

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

No built in way to do this.  You'll need to create the group, add members, and then assign permissions (NTFS, or local policies, etc.)

You probably need to assign manually some permissions on the file system.
Standard users are able to perform eveng log searches out of the box except security section.

For IIs, you can follow this blog as an example.
