HTTP error 500 after restore WordPresss

I have uploaded a backup of a WordPress Site, including DB, but now the site will not load.

I get a HTTP-error 500

In the logfile I get:
AH01071: Got error 'PHP message: PHP Fatal error: Class 'Requests_Hooks' not found in /var/www/vhosts/domain.tld/httpdocs/wp-includes/class-wp-http-requests-hooks.php on line 17\n', referer: http://domain.tld/?page_id=1776.

Any Idea?

usually error 500 consist of:
  • incorrect php version, you need to change it in your hosting
  • plugin error, rename plugin folder in wp-contents to plugin1 and refresh
  • theme error, try the orional built in themes and check
  • corrupted htaccess file

Thanks LVL11,

The Plugins folder are empty.
How do I change the theme, without access to backend?
It.s WP 7.2 what PHP-version is the best for that? (I did not change version).

.htsccess is OK

An error 500 means a server error. In this case there is an error in your script

The error is saying it cannot find the class Request_Hooks.

This is defined in wp_includes/Requests/Hooks.php

There are a couple things that can have gone wrong here

1. The files did not copy across correctly and this one is missing - check to see if the file exists

2. You moved the site from a windows system to a linux system and in the process the case of the files got changed. On the new system it is looking for a file called Hooks.php but it exists as hooks.php or vice versa.

Check those and report back.

Well that seems to be the problem then, as that is where the Hook.php file is located that is referenced in the error.

I have downloaded a fresh copy af Wordpress 7.2, and uploaded that´.

Now I get this in the log:
AH01071: Got error 'PHP message: PHP Fatal error: Class 'Requests_Hooks' not found in /var/www/vhosts/domain.tld/httpdocs/wp-includes/class-wp-http-requests-hooks.php on line 17\n'

Have you checked that wp-includes/Requests/Hooks.php exists?
