HP Laserjet P1102w printer will not recognize toner cartridge.

I have an older HP Laserjet P1102w printer.  It has done a great job for many years.  Now it will not recognize that a toner cartridge is present.  I tried a new cartridge, also cleaned the electrical contacts in the printer and cartridge.  Still no go.  Any suggestions for resolution or has it just finally expired?

If the cartridge is an HP cartridge and the contacts are clean, then the recognition circuit apparently has a fault.  A local printer repair person may be able to fix this economically, otherwise it is probably not worth an HP repair

No surprise.  Thought I would ask if there maybe was another trick to try.  As old as the printer is, although it was still printing nicely, it is not likely to be cost effective to repair.  I ordered another HP printer to replace it.  Thanks for the input.

Sounds good. When printers get old, the cost of repairs is usually not economical.

As well as that HP printer did and lasted, I am replacing it with another HP - printer only, no 3 in 1.  None in stores; had to order.

Thanks for the update.  Stores usually carry "All-in-one"  and my own HP 8610 is such a printer.
