I wear a lot of hats...

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

Yes even with Exchange 2016 you will still need to setup a hybrid deployment. It makes the mailbox migrations 100 times easier, and once the mailbox is migrated the user can still open and use outlook without needing to reconfigure the profile or anything. If really nice with the hybrid migration.

Look at the docs in the order i listed them and you will be good.

@timgreen7077 thank you for mentioning our article on Hybrid Configuration Wizard!
@pramod1 - you can take a look at our article on migration from Exchange 2010 to Office 365. It shows you possible migration scenarios and how to plan the move to Office 365. If you want to take the native migration path, you will probably want to go with the Hybrid Migration - it requires some manual work with the configuration but is the best when it comes to co-existence of the on-premises and cloud environment.
You can also take a look at a third-party migration solution - CodeTwo Office 365 Migration. This software takes a lot of weight off your shoulders - you plan how to migrate the Exchange environment and the software takes care of the migration, making the transition an easy experience.
