SQL Server configuration for ssis deployment to sql server ssisdb from visual studio.

I need to setup ssis on sql server to allow visual studio to deploy, what steps do i need to take on sql server to allow this to happen?

Which version of sql server and SSDT ( Sql server development Studio) you are using ?

SQL server 2016 and sql server 2016 ssms

If you are using version later than sql 2012. I am assuming you are using Project Deployment model for SSIS project. In that case, you wil deploy your project to ssis db.

If you don't know how to enable and configure SSISDB please refer below link.

Configure SSIS DB

If it already done, create project folder on SSIS db. Open your SSIS solution in SSDT right click on project go to properties.

And select Deployment under Configuration property.

Mentioned your sql server address in "Server Name" Like 'XYZ-PC\SQL2016" and put project path like

"/SSISDB/FolderName/Nameofyourssisproject"

Click on Ok and than right click on Project and select deploy go with instruction.

Solution seems good to understand how to configure and deploy ssis  package through SSDT.

what was required was to add the login/user to the msdb roles for ssis, this was something new for me but it worked with out issue, the visual studio solutions provided was only the front end solution not the backend solution
