1841 router compatible with SDM & ASDM

Yes I know but as my instructions recommended it I went with the 1841.

So I purchased the below which has ios 12.3 (20)

If it does not allow me to use the SDM/ASDM for spefically:

- site to site vpn
- remote site

Then I will return but I read on ebay it says it supports firewall stuff & aes & ipsec so I assume its ok.

one thing im not sure about is as it is not an advanced ios version that my instructions say to use but it also says that other versions maybe ok!!!

So I hope im only missing voip stuff!!!!

one thing im struggling to get a copy of is ccp admin version as wanted to practice but only have ccp end user which only allows basic stuf according to my reading!! since I have not got a cisco active account just a guest account.

if I knew where to look on ebay with ccp admin software installed then I could purchase but cannot locate.

the seller advised if not correct I can return it & pick another & they will refund as soon as they know its on route back to them.

asdm - only for use with asa which is what I already use.

I would love to buy a router off ebay with ccp admin installed so I can download to my pc to use since only have ccp end user version but wish to practice with it.

according to ebay site it states:

I wont be able to use that navigator until I recieve the physical router.

why not just ask the seller for the package version?  It shows it in the 12.4 train, they should be able to tell you the service package they have installed.

I did ask & they just sell & have no knowledge other than a site with a list of features & no full ios just 12.3 (8) .

it will be delivered Wednesday ie today so I can check when it arrives.

hi yes I've received the 1841 routers & they do allow me to install sdm successfully.

when I get chance I will also use that link you sent to find out what the iOS it's using for a list of its capabilities.

it does allow me to setup a site to site VPN & 1 end comes up that I installed sdm on my xp

but for some reason on the other side where sdm is installed on my windows has stopped allowing the ping from XP to win 7 only & don't know why.

- I have reset checked VPN config & all appears good.

- I've reset all 3 routers as the middle router just acts as the middle man & both my Cisco switches attached to both co & win 7.

- I've rest firewall defaults on win 7 & re-allowed file & print to all ICMP ping

XP can also ping switch attached to win 7 successfully

I'm also using eigrp on all 3 routers & all are up/up & can ping all.

last issue:

but still ping from XP to win 7 pc is failing.

thats what I'm currently working on but ran out of ideas so that's why that VPN side of win 7 is currently showing as down.
