What are the steps in setting up folder redirection on Windows 7 and Windows 10 clients to Windows Server 2008 R2?

What are the steps in setting up folder redirection on Windows 7 and Windows 10 clients to Windows Server 2008 R2?  Is there additional setups needed on the client machines? I represent a company that needs user documents and desktop items redirected to being saved on a Windows Server 2008 R2 server.

Create a new user GPO , commonly all folders should be redirected desktop, documents, appdata, downloads, faborites this way the profile size is minimal and logins ...
User configuration, sevurity setting, folder redirection.. Make sure the sharing permission grant users write rights, or the folder redirection will fail.
Make sure the share to which the folders will redirected, you would need to create the individual user folders, commonly,
On the gpo make sure to set folder redirection properties to copy data back when the gpo no longer applies.
If possible use domain based share for flexibility versus server based share. Deals with complexities with server based share when the server is being replaced by a newer system.

Using security filter, limit the gpo to a single test user....
