sql license

I have three backup end SQL server srv1,srv2 and srv3. Do I need three CAL to  a user to connect to all servers or I will be ok with one device license?

One device CAL means the DEVICE it is assigned to can access ALL SQL servers in your environment.
One user CAL means the USER it is assigned to can access ALL SQL servers in your environment.

And: When the servers have core licenses, then you need no CAL's.

Correct. When all the cores are licensed on the server then connections are not licensed because you licensed the entire core set.

What is the SQL Server version edition and server licence. anyway it is compliance and you can schedule backups to your backup device from maintenance plan.
