Drag and Drop Images Between 2 Word 2016 Documents

I am no longer able to move (drag and drop) a shape, image, or diagram from one Word document to another now that I have updated to Word 2016. I receive a red prohibited circle. I can cut and paste, but I cannot drag and drop.

If I save the document as a Word 2013 document, the problem is resolved.

Is there something I need to enable or trust to allow this to happen.

There have been a lot of updates to Office 2016. Do a FULL repair of Office (not Quick), restart and then test Drag, Drop with a new, test document.

Does this work.

If you accidentally started one Word instance with the "Run as Administrator" option and one normally, you will get this experience
There is no indication at this point that either of our solutions worked.

Hi - thanks for the suggestions, but neither of these resolve my issue. This happens in all instances of Word 2016 in our office. It is not a result of one open aas an administrator and one open as a normal use, nor is it resolved by repairing and restarting.
On one test machine, can you try an entirely new User Profile to see if drag and drop works that way?  I am not having this issue at any of our clients (lots of Office 2016 around)

I have tried this and I have the same issues. To clarify, this only happens when I try to move a SHAPE. I can move images without issue between documents. I can cut and paste shapes, but when I try to drag and drop them, I receive a red circle with a line through it.

Thanks
Can you try Office on a completely different machine with a fresh install of the operating system? I am not seeing this problem anywhere
Reinstalling Office and Windows etc. will not change this behaviour. The drag action for shapes is reserved for moving the shape. I would stick with copy and paste
Shaun is correct and I misinterpreted the above. If the object is an image, you cannot drag / drop. You must copy and paste. I was not using images when I posted the above.

Thanks Shaun - this is a change then from previous versions where I was able (in 2013) to drag and drop shapes between docs.
Seems that way. I tried locking shape to no avail
I tested in Word 2016 and cannot drag an image.

I can drag images no problem.
The particular image I have here give me the circle with the cross when I drag it. Maybe I have a different Office 2016 version.
