How to change language back to English for Youtube which was opened through internet browser on Android device

Hi,

We have a display with Android operating system built in.
https://iiyama.com/gb_en/products/prolite-te8668mis-b1ag/

A customer was using Youtube through the internet browser of this Android based display.

They accidentally managed to change the language displayed for the YouTube website to a different language and do not know how to change it back.

We would like to change the language displayed for YouTube back to English.

How would we do so?

Thanks,
Robbie

Hi Paul,

Thanks for the help.

I have managed to solve my YouTube language problem.

I found out that there were 3 dots to tap on on YouTube web page on Iiyama and managed to select second option from bottom of pop up screen which changed the YouTube web page to Desktop mode.

From there, I just scrolled to bottom of the page and changed the language to English and Location was already correct.

Each time I login into YouTube (Mobile mode or Desktop mode), the web page displays in English.

Kind regards,
Robbie

This page says it depends on how you're accessing YouTube.

If you're using the YouTube app, then...
  1. Go to Menu .
  2. Tap Settings.
  3. Tap General.
  4. Tap Location.
  5. Select the Country.

If you're using a browser app, then...
  1. Go to Menu .
  2. Tap Settings.
  3. Go to Language to choose a different language.
  4. Go to Location to choose a different location.

Hi Paul,

It is difficult to browse YouTube as the style of the webpage is different as well as the language being different.

The TV language is in English and the Gmail account logged in is also in English.

I have attached a picture of the YouTube webpage.

Kind regards,
Robbie

Hi Paul,

I have tried to find location setting on the Android display through YouTube but no luck.

When I log in to YouTube on a different PC with the same email account, I have access to YouTube in English.

I have found out how to log out and log back into YouTube on Android display.

Doing so, I found that I could change the language for the logging in to Gmail webpage.

I changed the Gmail login page to English, logged in and the non-english language appeared for videos in YouTube.

I also tried logging in with an email account i know is set to English language and it still appeared on Android display as the non-english language.

It is still hard to navigate YouTube on this Android display as the webpage does not look familiar.

Thanks,
Aaron

Those screen shots are from the YouTube app on my Android phone.  The YouTube web site will be different, of course, and even the app might look different on your device.

I'm still not clear if this is a problem with the app, or with the web site - you mention both.

If you're having trouble with the app, and my instructions didn't help, maybe uninstalling and re-installing the app on your device would help.

If you're having trouble with the web site, maybe logging out, and clearing your cookies/cached content would help.

While tapping on settings for YouTube trying to find language settings, I found out myself the solution after the YouTube browser changed to desktop mode but I did get some help as well.
