All the tools from OneNote can be used directly using a browser. Most of the tools (like OneNote) can be used using apps that can be installed on most platforms (PC, Mac, Android, IOS, ...)

OneNote is a kind of NotePad on steroid.

SkyDrive is the old name of OneDrive. OneDrive is a folder in the cloud to store files.
