Side note: &nbsp;When it comes to flashing a new BIOS on a motherboard, I stick with &quot;<i>Si non confectus, non reficiat.</i>&quot; &nbsp;If it ain't broke, don't fix it.<br />

BIOS flashing is for times when (a) the hardware absolutely needs a new feature only available in a later revision of a BIOS, or (b) it fixes a specific well-defined problem that is known to exist on this particular system. &nbsp;If a BIOS flash fails for any reason at all, it's too easy to end up with a &nbsp;useless brick.<br />

Many users don't seem to realize that once Windows loads the BIOS is completely out of the picture. &nbsp;The BIOS operates over a very short period - from the time the power button is pressed, to the time that Windows starts to load itself.
