Kindle with Good Wi Fi Connection, but not acknowledged when shopping.

Device: Amazon Kindle D00901.

I have connected to a strong WI FI network.

When I try to shop at the Kindle Shop I get the message:  'Your Kindle is unable to connect at this time. Please make sure you are within wireless range and try again. If the problem persists, please restart your Kindle from the menu in Settings and try again'.

But the device is connected to Wi Fi and the signal is strong - al bars  lit up.

Tried at another good WI Fi source. Same result.
The Kindle had not been  updated for a while, but when it connected to WI FI  it updated (took some time) and restarted. Yet I still CANNOT SHOP.

What to do?

I wear a lot of hats...

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

I suggest get in contact with support.. you may need their help to (re)register with the site.

View your WiFi connections (Select "view" next to "Wi-Fi Settings" to display a list).

Now there should be a button (icon) next to connections.  Forget  (delete) the connection, restart the Kindle and make a new one.

Have it sorted. I downloaded all updates (the device had not been updated for a long while) and that did the trick.
Advise me on awarding points. Cant award them to myself.

That would be similar to resetting the wireless card as suggested.

I think you can close with the option that you found the solution yourself and  no points awarded.
