Hi Shums,

On the tab "Master, I wanted to lookup in column G, resource name.  So when "lookup' in sheet 1, if the resource name is found, populate PO amount in column AB on the tab "Master"

Does this make sense :) ?

Thanks,

Kathryn
Kathryn TranAuthor Commented:
This is just. a sample.  When I have 100 + resources I just can't afford to look up manually by each reasource

Time consuming LOL.

Thanks,

Kathryn

Kathryn TranAuthor Commented:
I mean 100+ resources per PO.  I have like 1000 POs or so LOL :)
Kathryn TranAuthor Commented:
I'm frustrated I do ''vlookup' for many year.  Should be a piece of cake for me right ?  But I can't hit on this one LOL :)
ShumsExcel & VBA ExpertCommented:
Which Column Resource Name & PO Amount is in Sheet1?

Did you find my attachment yet ?

Thanks,

Not yet :)

Which Column Resource Name & PO Amount is in Sheet1?

Column Resource Name ==> A

PO Amount is in Sheet. ==> J

When attaching  file, you need to click Upload and enter a description before clicking Submit.
ShumsExcel & VBA ExpertCommented:
Assuming you have Resource Name in Col G & PO Amt in Col H in Sheet1, try below formula in Master Tab cell AB2 and drag down:
=IFERROR(VLOOKUP(G2,Sheet1!G:H,2,0),"")

Kathryn TranAuthor Commented:
ShumsExcel & VBA ExpertCommented:
try below
=IFERROR(VLOOKUP(G2,Sheet1!A:J,10,0),"")

Rob HensonFinance AnalystCommented:
None of your sample values match in Sheet1.

However, in column AB on Master sheet:

=IFERROR(VLOOKUP(G2,Sheet1!$A:$J,10,FALSE),"")
Kathryn TranAuthor Commented:
Hi Shums,

Can you please Kindly my attached file ?  I still can't get the PO $ populate in column AA on tab "Master"

Thanks :)

Thanks for your help !

ShumsExcel & VBA ExpertCommented:
Hi Kathryn,

You had extra spacing at the end of each names in Sheet1.

Check corrected file attached..

ShumsExcel & VBA ExpertCommented:
or you can use below formula:
=IFERROR(VLOOKUP($G2&"*",Sheet1!$A:$J,10,0),"")

Kathryn TranAuthor Commented:

Kathryn TranAuthor Commented:
gotcha :). let me try. Thanks !
Rob HensonFinance AnalystCommented:
Blank rows shouldn't make a difference. The vlookup looks at the first column of the  range to find the value.
Kathryn TranAuthor Commented:
