How to amend footer settings to reduce the size of or remove section of template (WordPress)

I am modifying a website and have a section at the bottom that used to contain a set of horizontal images  and links which are no longer wanted.

I was able to go into the catalyst custom hook box section (advanced settings) and deactivate this content but I am stuck with a pink rectangle which i'd like to move.

I have been using google inspect element and keep thinking I have found the CSS or PHP file but then open the file and find it's a reference file to somewhere else.

I have been able to change the footer wrap setting in google but again I can;t find the actual file to change permanently.

#footer-wrap {
    height: 330px;
    background: url(http://www.lindalouisehill.co.uk/website_images/footer-one-background.jpg) top left repeat;
    border-top: 4px solid #ffffff;
    border-bottom: 4px solid #ffffff;

Remove the background entry from the CSS #footer-wrap: background:none;  Make that change in the CSS.
