Making password policy expiration happening in phases.

Hello,

The maximum password age in our domain policy is currently set to 103 days.  Our IT management wants to see if we could set it to 30 days.

Changing the maximum password age from 103 days to 30 days will call a lot of users calling Helpdesk.  Is there a way we can throttle this process and making it happens in days...

Our users are being grouped into different OUs based on their locations.

Please advise.

Thanks.

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

Implement a PSO that applies to a group. Phase the policy in with the process

The Maximum password age is currently in our domain policy which is in the root level of the domain.

Is PSO going to work in this situation?

There is a group of users that their passwords will not expire until next month or the month after.  Once the maximum password age is changed from 103 days to 30 days, will they be expired right the way or next month?

Yes
will they be expired right the way or next month?
If that is a concern, take it down 10 days every day for a week
