Dell PowerEdge R740 Server

Any considerations on Dell Servers vs HP for internal infrastructure for remote office?
Particular looking into PowerEdge R740XD Server to be a VM host for multiple internal stuff.  AD,DNS,Print,Radius, mgmt,File, etc, etc.
How would you compare to HP DL or similar servers?
Any commentary on components below?

I wear a lot of hats...

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

HP and DELL are both reputed brands and can provide after sales service as you have your enterprise agreements

The config I seen above have only 16GB RAM

If your intention is to run multiple VMs (2012 R2 / 2016 servers) on this box, 16 GB is not enough
U need to find out hardware requirement for all virtual servers and accordingly increase physical server memory

Also do you have arrangement for cluster (additional physical server)

further hardware wise you won't face any issues / shortfalls with either HP and DELL and both are maintaining specifications and features appropriate

you need to alter config based on your requriements

We use Dell the majority of the time these days.

Only a single processor  in the server ?

Why are you also purchasing vSphere Standard ?

Do you have any other Hosts ?

Are you going to purchase vCenter Server ?

Do you have a SAN ?

You may be well advised to purchase vSphere Essentials at $600!

Dell's easier to get BIOS updates for, but who knows whether they'll still be free in 3 years time when the warranty runs out. HPE make you buy a contract before they'll give you BIOS for an out of warranty server,

if you have no SAN storage, I would look at WHY you are just purchasing a costly vSphere Standard license ?

I think there will be an implementation stages and SAN storage will be in the future stage.  Not stage 1.
