Using HTML 5 vSphere Client in 6.5 production environment

Hi, quick query about installing vSphere Client HTML in vSphere 6.5

I know its done through .ova and initially started as a fling

Is it safe to use in production environment now, had issues in past with other flings etc so a bit way

If its safe, is there a current walkthrough for install etc,

I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

I think there may be some confusion, there was a fling, which was for ESXi 5.5 and 6.0, which allowed you to manage your hosts from a Web Browser (HTML5).

and you maybe confusing the ESXi Embedded Host Client Fling with vCenter Server Web Client in VCSA (deployed via OVA)

see here

(it was enabled by adding offline vibs)

Hi, quick query about installing vSphere Client HTML in vSphere 6.5

You do not install it to manage a host in 6.5 it's enabled by default, and it's called the HTML5 Host Client.

You do not really have a choice in the matter for 6.5!

If you are also referring to vCenter Server, the Web Client is part of the Windows vCenter Server application or VCSA.

see my EE Articles, these show step by step tutorials with screenshots of how to install ESXi 6.5 WITH HTML 5 Host Client, or VCSA with Web Client...

Part 1:  HOW TO: Install and Configure VMware vSphere Hypervisor 6.5 (ESXi 6.5)

Part 2: HOW TO: Connect to the VMware vSphere Hypervisor 6.5 (ESXi 6.5) using the vSphere (HTML5 Web) Host Client 6.5

HOW TO: Deploy and Install the VMware vCenter Server Appliance 6.5 (VCSA 6.5)
