Windows 10 update

Dear all,

Kindly note that I am facing windows 10 update issue for 3 days. I disable the windows 10 from the services.msc and uninstalled it from the program and features. On the second day the service of windows update launch by itself. Again, I disable it, uninstalled it from program and features and block it from the windows firewall.
Today, the service start again. I am pretty sure there is something that enable this service somehow.
I am really annoyed and feeling crazy about.

You cannot turn Windows 10 Update off.

You can go to Update Settings and set:

(a)  set the Channel to Semi Annual to slow down updates (Non targeted means the update must be in widespread use first)
(b) use the setting below that to defer updates for a number of days (you choose).

But you cannot turn updates completely off.

What is your issue?

Thank you for your reply.

Yes I would like to stop it completely because we have several computers and that has bad effect on the internet connection.

JohnBusiness Consultant (Owner)Commented:
You cannot. The ability to stop Windows updates has gone with Windows 10.

You can Defer updates as I noted above.

In the same Update section, go to Delivery Optimization and set Downloads from Other PC's to ON and select Local Network.

I assume you are not talking about drivers.

Thank you again.
I knew these information but these features are not available since we are using 1067.
So I need to update them to the latest version to be able to change the update feature.

My question is how windows update service is starting when I disable it from services.msc
As I knew that if I disable a service it should not start again by itself unless something is forcing it launch.

The service will restart itself at some point. Microsoft has set it to restart.

I see this question a lot here and the answer is the same for all of us.

I test click to run service of office 365 and it did not run by itself. So, I believe there is something that enable this service somehow, but Microsoft is preferring to apply these update by force.
I hope we have wsus server to control these updates.

If you are in a business, WSUS can use a Long Term Service Branch of Windows 10 and that works fairly well. Your business IT should know about this.

John is correct on Windows 10.  You can not disable the updates services etc.  We have all done that and did all kinds of things to prevent windows 10 from repairing the update services.  Windows will fix windows update and try to install the updates again no matter what you do.  John pretty much answered your question.  So if he did you can close this question and award him the points.. :-)

JohnBusiness Consultant (Owner)Commented:
Thanks.  What you need to do is look at software and drivers on your machines and keep these up to date. That is what we do at clients.  Good Luck with this.
