Login Script not running

We have a weird problem we've been asked by a client to add 1 single drive mapping to their login script
Net use Z: \\server\postscan
when they login its not there, I've put a 'pause' in the login script I can see straight after Z: mapping I can see 'Command Completed Successfully' so its like the script is running fine and the syntax is correct.
If I type net use from a command prompt there is no Z: drive
if I browse to \\server\netgon and double click the logon.bat file the Z: drive appears
If I copy the logon.bat file to the local startup it does hat same thing no Z: drive
An y ideas?

Why not map the drives with GPO map drive preferences?

1. Share and NTFS Permission on \\Server\postscan set correctly?
2. for testing use ip-Adress net use z: \\\postscan any changes ?
3. network and share center: network identification is on?

It sounds like the mapped location is not accessible at logon (like the network is not active yet), if you do a Group Policy Preference you can specify "wait for network logon". That'd tell you.

Hello all.

Yes, permissions are set correctly and network identification is on.

We've sorted it by just putting a shortcut on the user's desktop at the moment, and, the first time the user clicks it it maps the location and then the second time it takes them in.

We'll have a look at the wait for network logon suggestion, but at the moment the user is happy with the workaround...
