Import .eml files into the mail program in Windows 10

Hello Experts

I have a client whose old computer died (Windows 10 upgraded from 7).  She was running Windows Live Mail.

I replaced her machine, but I can't find anything that will allow me to import her old .eml files into the Mail program in Windows 10.

She has quite a lot and says she doesn't want to lose them.  I've read that the new mail program uses .eml files, but I haven't found anything that explains how to get the old ones in place.

Any ideas?

Thanks

You can still download and install windows live mail on windows 10 and use it as archive - I wouldn't recommend to use it for receiving and sending new mails, though, as it is no longer supported by Microsoft.

You probably need to find a Windows 7 machine (make a Windows 7 Virtual Machine if need be) and open the files in Windows Live Mail.

Then export to Outlook. Forget Windows 10 Mail and get an inexpensive subscription to Office for the Windows 10 machine.

With regard to your query, the Mail App doesn't have the option to import .eml files.

The possible way to get your messages into Mail app is to use the email server to do the transfer. Configure the account in Mail app to IMAP.

My apologies for allowing this to sit this long.  The client left me hanging with the new equipment, so I stopped working on it.  I'll keep it for her for while and then wipe it and sell it as refurbished to cover my costs.

In the meantime, EE has changed things and I cannot split points.

I'm not really sure how to handle this, so I'm going to just let it sit in hopes that EE will fix it so I can split them.

I apologize for wasting everyone's time.

I did that and it only allow me to choose one response.  All the responses were useful to me and none was actually the solution.  The customer decided to forgo the new computer (leaving me stuck with it).

I'd like to split them equally, but that option seems to have been removed.

I sent feedback in hopes that things will change.  But in the meantime, I'm going to leave things as they are.
