Excel date difference calculations

Can you please help me calculate the difference (in calendar days) between the two dates in columns A and B on both tabs (see attachment)Dates_comp.xlsx. When I use the =DATEDIF(A7,B7,"d"), Excel returns a #VALUE! error, probably because it does not recognize the dates.

Thank you for your tremendous assistance!

I wear a lot of hats...

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

=DATEDIF(TEXT(A8,"dd-mmm-yy"),TEXT(LEFT(B8,FIND(":",B8)-1),"dd-mmm-yy"),"d")

Note that u need b8 at first and then a8 otherwise #num will thrown

See if this works for you:
=DATEVALUE(TEXT(A19,"mm/dd/yyyy"))-DATEVALUE(LEFT(B19,9))
