When to use Mirroring?

Thank you all in advance!

I have read only access to a database. Call it database X. At the same time, I am the owner of database Y. Our BI application requires a user be created in order for it, the BI solution, to publish/create visualizations. However, while I have created user in database Y with no issues, I can not create a user for the BI Application in database X.

I was thinking I could have a  job kick off a stored proc to import that data via a select into or something similar. However, is there another more elegant approach? My limited understanding of mirroring tells me i may not have sufficient access to database X to use mirroring.

Any ideas would be much appreciated.

Thank you in advance!

Mirror creates a Replica of the Primary database and everything you do in the Primary database is immediately mirrored (replicated) to the Secondary database. Problem is that you can't access a mirrored database without stopping the mirror so you can recover the Secondary database.

Perhaps, for what you want, best option might be the Replication where you can choose the tables that you want to be replicated as you don't need to replicate all database and it's objects.
