IIS Worker Process causes CPU 100% on IIS server.

I have a W2012 IIS web server that has 100% CPU and a lot of IIS Worker Processes.

Please advise what the issue might be.

Do you have access to an APM tool, like a trial version of Newrelic ?

An APM tool can tell you more in a few minutes than any of us guessing.

I got several sites for the same issue. Looks it's happening after the meltdown patches. You need to install a hotfix onto the server along with little amendment in the web.config file.

Follow the steps as per https://blogs.technet.microsoft.com/askcore/2017/08/18/high-cpuhigh-memory-in-wsus-following-update-tuesdays/

PS - First apply the hotfix, reboot then add the  "executionTimeout="3600" only if the issue persists.

The server where you have installed the operating system with the ISS is virtual?
How many processors does the server have?
If the server is virtual, try adding more processors to validate if the CPU load goes down.

I remain attentive to your comments.
