CRM 2011 to Dynamics 365 Upgrade

CRM 2011 to Dynamics 365 Upgrade

I have completed the Development upgrade using in-place upgrades to go from 2011 to 2013 to 2015 to 2016 to 2016.8.2.  This will remain the Dev server,

There is a Windows 2016/SQL 2016 server configured to be the Production server.

When I pull the Production bak file from the current CRM 2011/SQL 2008 system, is there a way to go directly to CRM 2016/SQL 2016 without going through all the version jumps that I did on the Dev servers?

It seems that since I have a CRM 2016 Dev server, there may be a way to update the CRM 2016/SQL 2016 servers with latest Production data to cut over.

Thanks

I wear a lot of hats...

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

No, unfortunately the CRM 2011 SQL backup must go through the same upgrade process via 2013, 2015 to 2016.

Thanks for the response.  So can I re-use the Dev server that I just used to upgrade from CRM 2011 to CRM 2016.8.2 to do the in-place upgrades but with the latest CRM 2011 production bak?

Then I plan on copying the last CRM 2016 bak and copying it to the Windows 2016/SQL 2016 (with CRM 2016 pre-installed) and creating the Production org on the Dynamics 365 server.

Thanks
