Migrating 2 Mailboxes to Exchange On-Line they took 8+ hours each - The job has been paused temporarily due to unfavorable server health

Migrating 2 Mailboxes to Exchange On-Line they took 8+ hours each?!?!

Exchange 2010 Hybrid Configuration.
50MB up/down Connection to the internet
User 1 - 50K Messages, 6GB Mailbox - 8 Hours 34 Mins
User2 - 86K Messages 5GB Mailbox - 10 Hours 13 Mins
User3 - 7.4K Messages 400MB Mailbox - 33 Mins
Time of Transfer for user 1 was after 5PM, user 2 was after 3PM. People Leave the office at 5PM and don't use Mail-server that much remotely.

For User1 and User2 I received the Following Messages in the Logs.

"StalledDueToTarget_DiskLatency" Isn't the Target the O365 Server?!?!?

I've seen a lot of posts on increasing the concurrency of more than 10 or 20 Mailboxes at once, though not much more than that.
Since the Moves were successful the configuration of the communications between On-Prem and Online should be okay. Though seems like there can be some tweaking to get better throughput? I have 90 more users to Migrate and I can't do 8 hours each user.

You will need to contact O365 support and they should be able to get the throttling restrictions temporarily removed.

This is very common and many choose not to contact support to resolve. You may need to provide some information about the number of mailboxes and the number remaining to be migrated and delays experienced.

I have found that clearing the the recovery dumpster will also cut down the migration time, because the recovery dumpster moves with the mailbox. I'm in the process of migrating from 2010 to 2016 and I clear the dumpster of all mailboxes before i start the move. Even though you don't see it but if the user has a few Gigs in the dumpster, that will move along with the 6 GB mailbox. That's if your company would allow the deletion of the dumpster items. Also since you are moving to Exchange online, @Todd is correct, contact MS to see if they can assist with throttling.

I Right Clicked the User in EMC on Exchange 2010 Server and Selected "New Remote Move Request..."

How should I be initiating the Migration from on-prem to O365? I have other Test Accounts I can try it with.

I think we are getting away from the problem. Contact support.

In the future, don't use the EMC. Either migrate mailboxes from the O365 EAC or when connected to EXO via PowerShell...

Unfortunately Its been a challenge getting Support. We bought our Licenses though Vendor A, who then bought them through Vendor B. Vendor B is listed as our Support contact. They were reluctant to help until I provided my first born.

Though Now that they are actually talking to me, there has been no progress. I have Migrated some smaller mailboxes.
250MB, 9K Items @ about an hour.
1.3GB, 12K Items are taking about 2 Hours.

the 250MB at 1 Hour seems unreasonable, though 1.3GB at 2 hours I'm not sure.

I just don't know how to get through to these people. On a Separate issue I had with Free Busy Data Info I asked them about the Throttling and they said, Yeah, that's something we need to do, call this number and ask them to change it. Though I misplaced that number. I have a new Support Issue with Microsoft on this issue and they replied with the following:

Its not at all like what the prior guy or you are implying. What can I say to this MS Support person to get them to understand the situation?

I still get this when I migrated a Large Mailbox after I waited the 6 hours after he said to wait 2-3 hours.

To me, 'StalledDueToTarget_DiskLatency', would be the Office 365 side since it is the Target. I only see this error when I migrate the larger (in size and number of Items) mailboxes.
