National Accreditation Board for Hospitals and Healthcare Providers(NABH) is the highest benchmark standard for hospital quality in India. It is actually developed by the Quality Council Of India(QCI) based on the lines of International Accreditation Standards like JCI,ACHS etc. Patients are the biggest beneficiaries from NABH accreditation,as it highly focuses on the patient quality of care and safety. It also helps the hospital staff to continuously learn and work in a safe and good.NABH is expected to provide empanelment of Insurance and TPA's. It also stimualtes continuous improvement and commitment towards quality care . There are different levels of accreditation for hospitals like pre-entry level, surveillance or re-assesment,3rd edition standard level and 4th edition standards. The accreditation for pre entry level is valid for 3 years but the surveillance should be done after 2years or 18 months of pre entry level accreditation.

NABL(National Accreditation Board For Testing and Calibration Laboratories) is a formal recognition of the competency of a lab based on Third party assessment following international guidelines. The accreditation areas under testing include biological,chemical, electrical, electronics,fluid-flow, photometry, radiological,thermal,forensic,medical,mechanical,non-destructive testing

calibration includes radiological,thermal and optical, mechanical,fluid-flow,electro thermal

The NABL accreditation is valid for a period of 2 years and it should be applied for renewal before 6 months of expiry.
