HPE Lights-Out Online Configuration Utility (HPONCFG) comms channel to ILO4
Hi folks... Does anyone know what's the comms channel used by the HPE Lights-Out Online Configuration Utility (HPONCFG)?
Is it via the server/driver channel or does it use the network?
I'm asking because a change in our datacentre network will require VLAN tags and this seems to be only available on ILO4 if it is using a Shared Network Port (currently using its own network adapter).
Since I have two network ports on the server it's easy to access one, change the VLAN then access the second one when the first one is confirmed ok and change the VLAN for the second port.
However if we move the ILO4 network to a shared port it will not have the shared port + VLAN configuration until AFTER the cable is plugged in. So I'm hoping HPONCFG uses a driver channel instead so I can do these changes from within Windows without the network access.
Any comments?
