I wear a lot of hats...

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

What is the end goal, one option is to subordinate the Windows DNS to the bind DNS, then convert the zone

Dig @localhost axfr yourdomain.com

Then scripting the text to import as a zone, or adding each using

One option, use dnacmd /zoneexport

Then using that as the basis to format the other zone add using the file...I believe there are powershell, vbscript tie-ins to pergorm these tasks, presumably the existing has many records, or this is a migration of many zones currently hosted on bird being transitioned to Windows DNS.

Thanks Arnold.  Let me review.  The end goal is to migrate into Windows AD DNS eventually and shutdown BIND DNS.
