Printer not listed in Devices and Printers

Newly installed Brother monochrome laser printer (set as default at installation)  does not show up in Devices and Printers (this is Win10 Pro) but does in printer list in Word, and it prints Word docs fine.

Any suggestions for making it visible in Devices and Printers?

Hi Ronald,

Go to Start and go to Settings - Devices - Printers & scanners.

If you don’t see your printer in this window, click the Add a printer or scanner option and wait while Windows tries to detect your printer.

  • go to services, and stop the printer spooler service
  • go to c:\Windows\System32\spool\PRINTERS and delete everything there
  • start the printer spooler service, or restart your computer.
