I wear a lot of hats...

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

Please post your sample/dummy workbook. Screen shot is not enough.

We need to see what format your employ ID is placed in that column.

Employee ID cannot be in such format. You would have some other format, which is converted to Date/Time format in your working sheet.

Maybe Excel has interpreted the entry as Date/Time because of the use of "/". Try formatting as General or add an apostrophe ("'") in front of the entry
