C# System.IO.CopyFile results in an error.

I wrote an app that grabs data from the database and exports it to CSV format.  Once that is done it copies the file to an archive folder.

I am receiving error:  Cannot evaluate expression because the current thread is in a stack overflow state.
using System.IO;

public static class FileTransfer
{
	public static void CopyFile(string from, string to)
	{
		CopyFile(from, to);  //ERROR OCCURS HERE
	}
}

Any ideas?

it is an infinite recursion if you call CopyFile in function CopyFile. you probably have to use a different name for your function or call the CopyFile with full scope.

Are you sure, that your stream, which you use to write your data in CSV  file, is closed? If you write data to archive, like zip or rar you should use special libraries, for example, SharpZipLib or other.

That should be surrounded in a try / catch block to catch exceptions.

Does the writer of the CSV file close the stream before this is called?
Also permission issues can cause this to fail.

Ugh.  That was the problem.  It was recursive.  Code should have been File.Copy.
