Well, that worked a little better, but it still took 11 minutes (db closed; both the db and doc down on the local C: drive).<br />
This is a decent machine - 3.30 GHz, 4.00 GB memory. Everything else going pretty zippy...

Then in the &quot;Select Data Source&quot; dialog, I browse to and then select the accdb. <br />
Then it hangs. <br />
Sometimes the dialog where you select the table or query will finally pop up after 15 minutes or so.<br />
But other times, it hangs for so long I just end the process in Task Manager. <br />
Any idea what might be happening there?<br />

Then it hangs.
