"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

Quite possibly it can't be corrected. The S5 is an old phone by current standards even if you can still buy it new, and OS support for it is probably something that isn't on Samsung's priority list...

You can root the phone and so remove manufacturer OS restrictions, but doing so also invalidates any warranty that it may have and does carry with it the possibility of bricking it beyond repair. Caveat emptor!
