2010 Exchange on 2016 exchange DAG

Can a 2010 exchange server be added to a 2016 exchange DAG? I am trying to added it but keep getting an error that one of my 2016 exchange servers need to be a 2010 exchange server.

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

No, you can not add an Exchange 2010 sever to a DAG for Exchange 2016. DAGs are not interchangeable like that. 2010 DAG on for 2010 and 2016 DAG only for 2016.

Agree with timgreen7077. You cannot add Exchange 2010 to 2016.
If you want a Server hold database you will have to build a brand new DAG with Exchange 2010 and migrate your mailboxes across from Exchange 2010. The same way if you have Exchange 2010 DAG and you want to move to Exchange 2016 DAG. You have to build a new DAG in Exchnage 2016 and move to 2016.
