Samsung S8 Home Screens

Hi

I have a Samsung S8. I notice there are a couple of different home screens.

1. Home screen (has a tiny house icon at the bottom) has no apps by default
2. If i swipe that screen to the side, then I get another screen which has various apps (but not stuff like phone)
3. If i swipe UP, then i get a black screen which has all apps + phone + SMS + Settings

This seems a bit confusing. What's the point, why not just have one home screen(s) like Apple and I can move apps around?

The hone screen with the home icon is the default.  This can easily be changed.  The default is where you go when you tap the square home key. Tapping and holding a blank area on any screen let's you see all the screens.  There is also a home bar at the bottom where apps will appear on all screens.

Let me know if you want more info.

Thanks, how can I change it?

Tap and hold a blank area on any screen.  Then tap the house icon on the top of the screen you want to be default.

Aha! Thank you so much it was annoying me!

But, the question is, why would Google code it that way? Why not have the Home screen as the screen with the subset of apps or ALL of the apps? Why have the Home screen as something blank to start with?

Mine was not blank when i got it.  Not sure why yours is. I have AT&T as a provider,  but got my phone from best buy.
