Should we move to VPS?

Hi, we have two sites on Bluehost cloud hosting, their highest level, Business Pro plan. The sites keep bogging down, even crashing, and support is no help as by the time they get their A team (second level techs) involved, the site is back up.

They suggest moving to VPS. Would there be actual benefits? Our current plan has 6 GB Available memory, the mid-level VPS plan has only 4. That sounds like a drawback.

Our sites are wordpress running divi theme and woocommerce. All latest updates.

Thanks for your input.

I wear a lot of hats...

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

I don't know Bluehost, but I doubt if the platform upgrade will lead to better reliability.
If I were you I would look for a better service provider maybe opt for Azure or AWS based solution.

I highly recommend Bitnami certified installation on Azure with their recommended hardware.

I believe that the experts above are on the right track.  When on "cloud" hosting, there is no telling how many other servers are executing in the same space.  This is not good practice.

Unfortunately, when on a VPS the very same is true.  There is no telling how many other virtual servers are executing on the same hardware and in the same memory space.

Going to a better service provider is more likely to be a long-term solution.

The Bitnami service has a ton of bad reviews on that link you sent. Doesn't sound practical for migrating already-existing sites.

I have built new and migrated existing sites to it.
