Upgrade SCCM process

Hello SCCM Guru's!

We are currently running SCCM SC 2012 R2 CM SP1, with a base of: 5.00.8239.1000

We use it for about 22,000 machines.

We need to upgrade as soon as possible due to security guidelines.

Our SCCM team has searched far and wide on the web to upgrade to the latest base and version, but cannot find any upgrade path so far.

Would any of you be able to help us out with this upgrade process?

Your help is greatly appreciated!!

Hi,

5.00.8239.1000 is the non-R2 SCCM SP2 (NOT SP1 - SP1 anything is 5.0.7804.xxxx) with no Cumulative update from 5/14/2015 so is very old. (You knew the last bit already!).

You can therefore do an in-place upgrade to the base current branch, 1606. Once there you can use the in-console upgrades to the latest and greatest.

You might want to ask your CM team to double-check the version on the site server and why they thought 8239 was SP1.
