Error during vCenter 5.5 install

Error during vCenter 5.5 install

Good Day guys,

I am setting up my lab to practice VMware and learning 5.5 because the infrastructure I am going to support is still on 5.5.
I downloaded the install and installed following successfully :  SSO, Web client, Inventory service

I am getting errors installing vCenter part of this process. Attached is the log files that the installer point to.
This is non domain joint Server 2012 server on which I am installing vCenter in my lab infrastructure.
Windows is all upto date.

I have tried uninstalling and installing it sevral time but it fails with following log files.

Please note that I have installed prerequisits like .net frame work 3.5 and 4.5. On the DNS on this server, under forward lookup zones, added -  Mylab.com and inputed the DNS of this server under question i.e  srv1

Please let me know after looking at the logs as to what could be causing this issue.

Thanks in advance!!!

Windows 2012 server Datacenter edition.

I have never installed vcenter before, learning VMware watching cbt nugget videos.

Yes fresh server. Installed all updates, it's not yet activated though.
The logs seem to suggest a previous version detected and rollsback

It's definitely fresh windows install which I did yesterday. May be it's pointing to previous install of vCenter ?  I attempted to install vcenter few times but it failed all times.

Program files shows, SSO, inventory and web client are installed successfully. After it failed on the last - vCenter module install, I tried installing again using custom install.
If you recommend, I can uninstall all components and start installing again.
Is this a VM?

The best thing is to start virgin or create a snapshot and rollback if it fails

Yes this is a VM. Thankfully I did take a snap shot right before installing vcenter. I am reverting the Van to that state and will install vCenter again, let's see how it goes.
Also make sure you are using the latest and last version of 5.5

Now the issue I am running into is while installing vCenter server I get an error message during install of SQL:

The Microsoft SQL Server Express Edition installer returned error code '2227047362'

After this error Installation of vcenter gets interrupted pointing to these logs. Attached log again.

Thank you for your help! Awesome support. Solution was to rolback to snapshot prior to Vcenter install and then restart server after installing SQL via this installer and then continue with vcenter server install.
