how would one do that on phone systems? I do have access to phone system, need steps to program phone system.

Well you should have been provided programming manuals.

What model system do you have? (I'm assuming it's Panasonic)

from the manual, set the ring volume to off

Indeed, however the question suggests that the "flex key" may not be programmed for the extension "or" it's setup against a different phone profile which shouldn't matter but still ...

flex key is programmed for the extension, line currently ring would like to just blink/flash instead of ring on that headset. Would like to know the steps on system software how to program this particular feature.
