convert windows sql cluster to vmware (break cluster config)

Convert P2V windows clustered SQL server.

Any options to convert Windows Cluster SQL server?   We would like to break the cluster and just convert single Node with drives and services, without clustering?

Any suggestions?

The storage must be common, in VMWARe the hoST can mimic the common storage accessible to one node at a time.

IMHO, it might be better to build the cluster in the VMWAre environment.

This is  not very critical servers, so we dont need cluster for it, but we do want to get into vmware.

thanks

If the SQL Server instance is a Failover instance then you can't break the cluster. If you do so, SQL Server won't work anymore.
