WSUS 6 Event 12072 afer fresh Install

Windows 2012 R2 VM on ESXI Host VMWARE
SQL 2014
WSUS 6

Was getting this error all of a sudden  so I chose to uninstall WSUS doing this I deleted the content folder o my E: Drive . Also deleted the SQL databases

I then restarted the server and installed afresh copy of WSUS point to a different folder name  checked the registry and the content folder appears correctly.

A sync with Microsoft updates worked fine.  The computers all reconnected.

I did a wsus health check and got the event below.  as well as an event 13042  Self-update is not working

The event that is stopping my updates

I may think it cold be an IIS issue  but not sure.

Any ideas

For the file cert issue you should give the procedure described at https://www.winvistatips.com/threads/wsus-keeps-gettign-content-file-download-failed-reason-crc-verification-failure-errors.748027/ a try. Probabably there is a corrupt file downloaded and not being able to get replaced, so needs manual removal restarting the download.

I'm not clear about this point: Did you perform a complete uninstall of WSUS? It looks like the webroot stuff has not been removed/changed ...
And what error you are referring to in "Was getting this error all of a sudden"?

Sorry I posted the wrong errors

I did a complete uninstall of WSUS deleting all folders and files  I complete new install of WSUS even changed the directories

I get the same error every day a few times a day.

Updates are downloading and applying to my computers all my research on this error was a permissions problem on the wsus content folder  ?  network service has full rights to the wsuscontent folder

I'm not sure this is a folder permission issue, but both Network Service and LocalSystem should have full access to WSUSContent.

Do you have any data downloaded into the WSUSContent folder? From your last comment, I suspect issues with some updates only, and if you can take the last error seriously, because of invalid (file) certifcates. No clue why that should be, unless downloads are stopped prematurely.

Qlemo

LocalSystem was omitted so I added it and will see if the events clear up now.

When I went to check all approved updates I found two Adobe Flash updates that were failing to download.
I declined those two updates and the events went away. So the events were correct was failing to download updates. Next time I will check that,

Thanks for all your help
