Stopping the constant request for password from iPhone 7.

How do I stop the iPhone 7 from requiring a log in!

I go out and take pictures and I swear every tie I put my phone in my pocket, I need to enter the password.

I need it to stop harassing me and destroying my productivity.

I never leave my phone in places where it could be compromised anyways...

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

Open the Settings app and select Passcode.

iPhone Passcode Setting

You will be asked to enter your code.

Enter Passcode

After entering your code, you will see the Turn Passcode Off option at the top of the window. Select this option and you will again be asked to enter your code.

Passcode Off

After entering the code this one last time, the passcode function will now be disabled for the device. You will know the function has been disabled because the screen will now display the Turn Passcode On option. The next time the device goes to sleep mode, it can be awakened and used without entering a code.

If you like the added security of a code, but don’t like entering it every time you use the device, try changing the frequency in which a code is required. With the passcode function enabled, tap on Require Passcode. Here you will have the option of selecting when a code is required after a certain period of inactivity. Shorter times provide a higher level of security than longer times.

I turned it off. Thanks.  But I guess it is kinda dumb to leave it that way. I can not change the frequency since "Immediately" is the only option for Require Password.

Am I missing something?

Did you know that you don't need your phone's password to take a photo?

Just swipe up from the bottom of the screen to access the camera, calculator, flashlights and a few other goodies.

Also if you enable touchID, you should not have to manually enter your passcode as much.

PS, never say never about where and when you may or may not leave your phone. I used to be "that" careful till the time I forgot my iPhone in my pocket, and hopped into the pool at Disney on the first day of a family vacation  ;)

That is a great reminder. I do not need to log in to use my camera.

And I agree, leaving the log-in requirement of is dumb.

I just beed to change the frequency but can not seem to.

It looks like it is no longer possible to do this unfortunately since iPhone 6.
Found a few articles like here to provide some insight into this.
You should have a fingerprint scanner on the iphone since the iPhone 6.  It doesn't have to be an actual recorded fingerprint.  It can be some other part that the government doesn't record, so that you can avoid someone bypassing it.
