How to add MYSQL to Excel Addins

Can anyone tell me if MYSQL and MYSQL FOR EXCEL is the same ?
I work extensively with Excel and yesterday downloaded and installed MYSQL
from the Community site using Installer.
If it is then how do I add MYSQL to the addins in Excel ?
Many thanks
Ian

No they aren't.

MySQL for Excel is an add-in for Excel that you can download from here.

It will allow you to work with MySQL databases, so you would also need to install MySQL.

Here's a link to the community edition of MySQL, MySQL Community Server.

I think that's the link I used but nowhere in the installation does it show MYSQL FOR EXCEL
How can I tell if it is installed ? I don't see any add-ins in Excel
The above video that Tahir posted was one I saw earlier but it shows the Add-in already shown
in the ribbon.
Any further help appreciated
Thanks
Ian

Apologies, it's been some time since I last installed MySQL.

Try this link instead, it should install both MySQL and MySQL for Excel among other things you might be interested in , e.g. MySQL Workbench.

How can I know it is downloaded correctly ?
There was no sign of MYSQL FOR EXCEL in program features
nor in the APP menu or the Excel Add-in menu

I have managed to find the link for MYSQL FOR EXCEL and downloaded and installed it. It shows
in Programs and features. I had to download/install Visual Studio Tools for Office runtime.
However it doesn't appear in the Excel addin menu.

I managed to install successfully after downloading other files. Restarting and
ticking .com box in Excel add-in
Thanks to both

Glad you got it working, was at work earlier so couldn't check my own MySQL installation.

PS Was going to suggest checking under COM Add-ins but that's locked down at work.
