EFI motherboard - can't install Win10

Tried to do a clean install, Windows said it could not reformat the disk because it has a MBR partition table and on EFI systems, Windows can only be installed on GPT disks.  took the disk to a shop to format. Tried to install to the clean disk, got the same message.

Taken from here:
https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_10-windows_install-winpc/how-do-i-install-windows-10-onto-a-gpt-guid-hard/3ba1ab75-7888-47ef-b34a-8614af8b9c78

From inside Windows Setup, press Shift+F10 to open a command prompt window.

Open the diskpart tool:

diskpart
Identify the drive to reformat:

list disk
Select the drive, and reformat it:

select disk <disk number>
clean
convert gpt
exit

Then you should be able to install to the disk.

Hope this helps!

Formatting isn't enough. You catually have to remove the partitions and flip it to GPT.

Yup, GPT on all partitions and UEFI BIOS and then try again.

Although I understood what the others meant, Christopher went into a short step by step explanation and showed me where to get a more detailed explanation/instruction.  Not always possible but best way when it is.
