SSH on C4510

Hi Experts,

on a CISCO C4510 switch I like to create SSH login , but this is not working.
When I try to type the crypto command, its not there.

Can you help me out please ?
Is it possible to create SSH access on a C4510 switch ?

There are some IOS versions without crypto support. To be eble to use SSH you will need IOS with K9.

IOS with K9 present has crypto support- cat4500e-universalk9.SPA.03.06.07.E.152-2.E7.bin
IOS without K9 does not have crypto support - cat4500e-universal.SPA.03.06.07.E.152-2.E7.bin

Which version is currently running on device?

I typically use
sh ver | i IOS

I will try to find some 4510RE in production to verify it on that specific device.

Looks like it is not crypto image.

Here is output from IOS XE 4500-X device:
Cisco IOS Software, IOS-XE Software, Catalyst 4500 L3 Switch  Software (cat4500e-UNIVERSALK9-M), Version X.X.X RELEASE SOFTWARE (X)
Similar is for IOS 4510R-E devices:
Cisco IOS Software, Catalyst 4500 L3 Switch Software (cat4500e-ENTSERVICESK9-M), Version x.x.x, RELEASE SOFTWARE (x)

You can see version names with and without crypto option - Download Software
I guess image present on your device is
cat4500es8-universal.SPA.03.07.00.E.152-3.E.bin
to be able to configure ssh should be
cat4500es8-universalk9npe.SPA.03.07.00.E.152-3.E.bin.

Current IOS version name can be checked with:
sh bootflash: | i 4500
sh run | i boot_system

if there is nothing in boot system device will boot first IOS that can be found on boot flash.

That's it. That version does not support crypto. You need K9 version.
