MS Project Exported in Excel format issue

Hello,

As I work in MS Project, and export data to Excel, thru mapping, I seem to be missing on:

1) Exporting Task Name - I cannot find proper field name to map
2) The Start and Finish dates exported don't allow me change their format
3) Assignment Column has value only 'No'

Warm regards,

Sanjay.

I wear a lot of hats...

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

As Is export looks like this: msp-export-sample.pngFor the date columns, choose a date format (in MSP) that is yyyy-MM-dd hh:mm OR MM-dd-yyyyy hh:mm OR dd-MM-yyyy hh:mm depending on the "native" date style you use in Excel. The date format used is a string because of the month names. The column that has the resource in a coma seperated list is called (from memory) "Resources".

Please note I no longer have MSP to refer to so i can't offer much more detail.

nb: if you don't export the MSP row numbers how will the predecessor references be useful? (the do not align to Excel's row numbers)

Got it.

I also got the answer that while exporting if I choose buttons "base on table", and then select "Entry", I get my answer on ID, Task Name and even Resource assignment.

Besides, the above help should be really good.
